Radian: Underpinning the Arc of an Artist’s Career

The artists and collectors are the heroes of the story that’s being written through this effort. I know the power art has to change the way people think and feel, for the better of humankind, and Radian Gallery is going to be an agent of that change.

A radian is, in a very simplified definition, a constant that underpins the arc on a circle. The Radian Gallery aims to be a constant force that underpins the arc of an emerging artist’s career, supporting them until they reach the point where they are widely exhibited by museums and grace the walls of the most discerning collectors.

“ALCHEMY”

National Juried Exhibition

October 3 – November 3, 2019

Opening Reception Saturday October 5, 5:00 – 7:30pm

Alchemists were notorious for attempting to make synthetic gold, but their goals were far more ambitious: to transform and bend nature to the will of human imagination. “The aim of alchemy, to both imitate nature and transcend it, lies at the heart of artistic practices. Creativity itself can be said to describe a process of going beyond mere imitation—to create a new reality.” – Nora Landes. The Arts Guild of Sonoma invites artists to express their dreams, desires, mysteries, symbols, creativity and enlightenment in ALCHEMY, our annual National Juried Exhibition.

JUROR: Jenny Gheith, SFMOMA

Jenny Gheith is Assistant Curator of Painting and Sculpture at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Gheith previously served as program director for the Society for Contemporary Art and curatorial assistant at the Art Institute of Chicago, and has taught at the California College of the Arts and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
